As the festival of Vijaya Dashmi is being celebrated with religious enthusiasm across the country on Tuesday marking the victory of good over evil, President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have greeted the people on the eve of Dussehra.

New Delhi: As the festival of Vijaya Dashmi is being celebrated with religious enthusiasm across the country on Tuesday marking the victory of good over evil, President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have greeted the people on the eve of Dussehra.

In his message, President Pranab Mukherjee appealed to the people to resolve to follow the path of moral and ethical rectitude which has guided for centuries.

Vice President M Hamid Ansari expressed hope that the festival will bring peace, harmony, and prosperity in the nation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a series of tweets also greeted the nation.

In the national capital, the traditional Ramlila will come to an end with the burning of effigies of Ravan, Meghnad, and Kumbhkaran.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police has made elaborate security arrangements to avoid any untoward incident.
