Mahoba: PM Narendra Modi on Monday, while addressing a rally in UP's Mahoba, lashed out at people advocating 'triple talaq'.
PM Modi asked, "Is it fair for a man to say "talaaq" thrice over the phone and a Muslim woman's life to be ruined?"
"Please don’t make triple talaaq a political matter, let’s take proper measures to give equal rights to women as well," PM Modi added.
Blasting people for indulging in vote-bank politics, PM Modi said, "I am surprised that for vote-bank politics, some parties want to keep Muslim women bereft of their natural rights."
"I request people who participate in TV debates, don't make women rights into Muslim-Hindu issue; women's right is a development issue," PM Modi added.
Moreover, PM said, "The debate should be between Muslims who want reforms and those who do not want reforms and it is responsibility of govt and people of the country to give justice to Muslim women under Constitution."
Also, PM Modi appealed to the people of Mahoba to break the cycle of SP-BSP, if they want to see UP as 'Uttam Pradesh' in next 10 years.
"I want to do more work than that done by all PMs elected from UP taken together," the PM added.
