Delhi: Pakistan is in the process of asking India for audio files of the call intercepts recorded by Indian intelligence agencies regarding Pathankot terror attack, as per a media report.
According to India Today, Islamabad is likely to convey the demand officially by Pakistan's National Security Advisor Lt Gen Naseer Khan Janjua to his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval soon.
The website quoted sources in Pakistan as saying that their government believes that the evidence submitted by India in the terror attack so far is insufficient.
The report said that Pakistan feels that they need more evidence to effectively probe the origins of the terrorists who carried out the attacks in Pathankot.
Pakistan will also be asking for finger prints of the terrorists who were killed at the Pathankot airbase as they wanted to match the samples received from India with the National Database and Registration Authority system or the NADRA database.
Not only this, Janjua may also seek voice samples of the calls that were made by the Jaish terrorists to their handlers in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, widening the probe in Pathankot attack case, NIA teams today visited Samba and Kathua areas of Jammu region where similar strikes had taken place last year and quizzed for the second day a Punjab police officer who was allegedly kidnapped by terrorists hours before the assault on the air base.
NIA sources said a team of the agency today visited the army camp in Samba on the Jammu-Pathankot highway where two terrorists had opened fire on March 21 last year. Both the militants were shot dead by security forces, while three people including a major were injured in the gunbattle, as per PTI.
Another team also visited Kathua where Rajbagh police station was attacked by a group of militants a day before.
Three security personnel, two militants and as many civilans were killed in the ensuing exchange of fire.
They said the agency could spot "glaring" similarities in the modus operandi of the terrorists, who attacked installations in Kathua and Samba and those who mounted the brazen assault on Pathankot IAF base on the intervening night of January one and two this year.
