New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday visited Ujjain to take part in the 'Vaichaarik Mahakumbh' a part of the ongoing Kumbh mela.
The PM was accompanied by Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena and chief ministers of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra at the event.
While addressing the conference - 'Vaichaarik Mahakumbh' , highlighted the importance of Kumbh in the Indian traditions.
"First of all, I want to bow to all saints and seers who are here today. What is happening here is the birth of a new effort, a modern edition of what would happen in the yesteryears. The Kumbh mela gives new direction to the society, it is part of our age-old tradition and culture," said Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"We belong to a tradition where even a Bhikshuk says, may good happen to the person who gives me and even the person who does not," added PM Modi.
The conference spread over several sessions is part of the ongoing Simhasta Kumbh mela on the banks of Kshipra river.
