Jat quota agitation cripples daily life in Haryana, UP, Delhi; list of trains cancelled

New Delhi: Several train services on Western Railways scheduled to depart on February 22 and 23 were on Sunday cancelled due to the ongoing Jat agitation.

The protesters are agitating from past seven days backing their community`s demand for job quotas in Haryana. The agitators even paralyzed traffic in Uttar Pradesh`s Ghaziabad district bordering Delhi.

The National Highway-8 was also blocked by the protesters in Haryans' Rewari area.

Meanwhile, in order to give succour to the stranded passengers in Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Air Force administration at Jammu is keeping the Satwari Airport open for civil air traffic in the night.

The ongoing agitation in Haryana has resulted in cancellation of several trains between Jammu, Udhampur, Delhi and other towns.

Even the road movement to Delhi and other towns is hampered considerably, which has resulted in severe hardship and constraints to numerous citizens.

However, BJP general secretary in-charge of Haryana Anil Jain today said that the Jat community will get reservation in government jobs and a draft legislation will be brought in the next session of the Haryana Assembly in this regard.
