The population of students in India (age group 5-19 years) has recorded a 30% jump over 10 years between 2001 and 2011, a report said on Friday.

New Delhi: The population of students in India (age group 5-19 years) has recorded a 30% jump over 10 years between 2001 and 2011, a report said on Friday.
The Times of India reported that the jump, however, is not evenly distributed across religions.
Muslim students have recorded an increase of 44% - girl students in the same category have registered a notable 53% jump.
Now, 63% in the 5-19 years age group among Muslims are students.
However, the population of Hindu students in the said age group is still higher at 73%.
Jains, meanwhile, have the highest 88% students in the 5-19 age bracket, followed by Christians in second position.
The details have been derived from the freshly-released Census data.
