'Buddhu' Rahul Gandhi has no future: Subramanian Swamy

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy, the lone petitioner in the National Herald case, has termed Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi as 'Buddhu'.

In an interview to Aaj Tak news channel, Swamy, a known baiter of Sonia Gandhi and her son, said that the mother-son duo have a habit of lying.

When the BJP MP was asked about Sonia and Rahul's claims in the National Herald case, he said, they have a habit of telling lies and both the Congress leaders have lied about their educational qualifications.

'Rahul Gandhi is a 'buddhu', he has no future', Swamy said, when he was asked to comment on Congress vice president's recent rhetoric on various issues.

Swamy further said that he doesn't need the support of BJP in the case, further adding that he has had no discussion with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah or Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) regarding the National Herald case.

The senior BJP leader said that he is still confident that the mother-son duo will go to jail in 2016.

Sonia and Rahul last week appeared in a trial court here in the National Herald case filed by the BJP leader and were granted unconditional bail.

The Delhi High Court this month dismissed the Gandhis' plea to quash the summons issued to them by the trial court on June 26, on Swamy's complaint about "cheating" in the acquisition of Associated Journals Ltd., which published the National Herald newspaper, by Young India Ltd., "a firm in which Sonia and Rahul Gandhi each own a 38 percent stake".
