Mewat: Tightening the noose around terrorists operating in India, the Special Cell of Delhi Police on Monday arrested an Al Qaeda operative from Haryana.

The suspected Al Qaeda terrorist Abdul Sami was arrested has been taken into police custody from Haryana's Mewat district.

Abdul Sami hails from Jharkhand's Jamshedpur city. He allegedly belongs to Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS).

According to the Delhi Police, Sami was allegedly in contact with Abdul Rehman - another AQIS member who was arrested in Odisha last year.

Sami travelled to Dubai from where he went to Mansehra in Pakistan to train and returned to India in 2015.

The Special Cell had in December last year arrested three AQIS operatives Zafar Masood and Abdul Rehman and Mohammad Asif, who is suspected to be the training and recruitment chief of AQIS.
