New Delhi: After the death of Indian prisoner Kirpal Singh in a jail in Lahore, Dalbir Kaur, the sister of Sarabjit Singh who met the same fate, on Tuesday said that she came to know from a source that directions have been given to Lahore jail to kill 11 Indian prisoners.
Mainly lives of our two prisoners - Kuldeep Kumar from Ahmedabad and Ansari from Maharashtra - lodged in Pakistani jails are in danger, said Kaur.
Sarabjit Singh, an Indian prisoner, died after a murderous attack by fellow prisoners in a Lahore jail in April 2013. And Kirpal Singh, 54, who was arrested in Pakistan in 1992, died under mysterious circumstances in Lahore's Kot Lakhpat prison on Monday.
Recalling her brother's demise, Dalbir Kaur told news agency ANI that she still believes that Kirpal didn't die of heart attack, the reason is something else.
"When I heard Kirpal's body is being brought to India, similar scenes flashed through my mind when Sarabjit's body was brought. It is suspicious why Pakistani prisoners do not die in Lahore jails. I still believe that Kirpal didn't die of heart attack, the reason is something else. Everything will be cleared in the post-mortem," she added.
She further demanded that the Ministry of External Affairs must probe this and take strict action on it.
Meanwhile, the sister of Kirpal Singh also said that her brother didn't die of heart attack. “We received his letter two months back, everything was fine then,” she said.
Ashwani, Kirpal Singh's nephew, told ANI that lives of Indian prisoners in Pakistani jails are in danger. “We just want safety of our prisoners.”
