Gujarat govt cancels transfer of ATS SP Himanshu Shukla

The Gujarat government today cancelled the transfer of Superintendent of Police (SP) of state Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) Himanshu Shukla. A notification in this regard was issued today by the state home department.

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat government today cancelled the transfer of Superintendent of Police (SP) of state Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) Himanshu Shukla. A notification in this regard was issued today by the state home department.

In the earlier order, passed on January 17, Shukla was transferred as Bharuch district SP, while Arvalli SP Mayur Chavda was transferred as the new SP of the state ATS.

With today's order, these transfers are cancelled and Shukla will continue to serve as SP of ATS.

Notably, Shukla played a key a role in cracking the double murder case of two BJP leaders, who were shot dead in Bharuch town during November last year.

As per the fresh notification, Surat district SP Sandip Singh has been made the new Bharuch SP, replacing Shobha Bhutda, who has been transferred to Jamnagar as the Commandant
of State Reserve Police Force(SRPF).

While Arvalli SP Mayur Chavda has been transferred as the new SP of Surat district, the notification stated.
