Vietnam: Wildlife is an asset to the world, bestowed upon us by Mother nature. There are people making tireless efforts to protect and preserve them and then, there are those, who seek nothing but personal gains by harming them.

Humanity, it seems, hit an all-time low when police in Nam Dinh province of Vietnam arrested a 26 year-old wildlife trafficker, locally named Pham Van Tu, who sold tiger cubs after freezing them to death to make a “healing glue”.

Vietnam, one of the most biodiverse countries in the world, is known for harbouring "thousands of illegal hunters", as reported by the New York Times.

The glue, for which the cubs were being subjected to this brutality, is believed to contain healing qualities and is made from the meat, skin, claws and bone of the frozen animals.

According to the Daily Express, the trafficker claimed he purchased the cubs from a market at the border of Vietnam and Laos for VND2 million (£60).

After searching for a prospective buyer, Van Tu planned to sell the cubs for a good VND8 million (£250).

Van Tu was attempting to sell the cubs when he was arrested. He is supposedly a member of a wildlife trafficking ring and has been taken into custody for questioning.
