Air pollution: Monday's Real-Time Air Quality Index Visual Map in Delhi

New Delhi: Poor air quality in Delhi is taking a toll on the residents' health. Particulate matter and toxins in the air are not exactly helping matters.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO) survey of 1600 world cities, the Air Quality in Delhi, the national capital of India, is the worst of any major city in the world.
The onset of Diwali in the month of November this year, contributed toward the release of toxins into the air, thereby worsening the condition of air quality.
As per the Real-time Air Quality Index Visual Map, today seems to have fared much better in terms of pollution levels as compared to the last few days.
Anand Vihar, although still on the higher side, has recorded the air quality index around the area at 672 as of 6:00 am, whereas, yesterday the same area was at 799.
Similarly, areas in and around Punjabi Bagh have come down from yesterday's 894 to 365 as of 7:00 am.
New Delhi US Embassy and RK Puram are at 378 and 355 respectively.
