Have found solution to end ongoing MCD strike: Arvind Kejriwal

New Delhi: As the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) employees continue to protest over long-pending dues, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday announced that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has tried to find a solution to end the ongoing strike.

The AAP chief today took to Twitter saying, “We have tried to find a solution to ongoing MCD strike. Will announce at 3 pm. Hope it satisfies everyone and the strike ends.”

Kejriwal had last week expressed his support towards the demands of the agitating MCD workers who are on a strike over the non-payment of their dues.

The Delhi CM has maintained that the present MCD should be dissolved and fresh elections held.

The indefinite strike by the MCD workers has entered its eighth day today as they have shown no signs of backing down from their agitation so far.

The strike by the MCD workers has crippled traffic in the national capital. The crucial NH-24 connecting Ghaziabad with Delhi today witnessed huge traffic jams as the municipal employees staged protest.

On Sunday, Delhi Ministers, AAP MLAs and hundreds of party workers hit the streets to clear overflowing garbage dumps.

All the three wings of the MCD -- South, East and North -- are controlled by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
