BK Bansal suicide case: CBI replies to NHRC's notice over allegations of torture

Bansal and his son committed suicide, last week, by hanging at their residence in East Delhi.

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Wednesday, replied to National Human Rights Commission's notice over allegations of torture behind the suicide of bureaucrat BK Bansal and his family.

The central agency is probing the allegation by Bansal in a suicide note that his family was harassed by some of its officials.

Bansal and his son committed suicide, last week, by hanging at their residence in East Delhi.

He was arrested on July 16 this year for allegedly accepting bribe from a prominent pharma company.

The agency said it has received communication from the Delhi Police enclosing therewith the purported hand written notes of Bansal and his son.

He said it contains allegations against certain CBI officials in connection with the on-going bribery investigation.

Earlier, Bansal’s wife and daughter also committed suicide, after his the arrest.
