New Delhi: Slamming OP Sharma for using derogatory remark against AAP legislator Alka Lamba, Delhi Assembly Speaker Ramniwas Goel on Tuesday said the BJP MLA's "shameful act" has violated the decorum of House.

Reacting to continuous protest by the ruling party MLAs over Sharma's remarks, Goel also said the AAP legislators should have patience and should not troop into the Well to logde their protest.

"Sharma has violated the decorum of the Assembly by using derogatory comment against an AAP woman legislator. It is shameful act," Goel told reporters here.

The House proceedings would have begun if Sharma or Opposition leader Vijender Gupta apologised for the comment, he said.

Slamming Goel, OP Sharma alleged that the Speaker is biased and was favouring AAP MLAs, a charge rejected by the former.

Due to uproar over Sharma's controversial comment against Lamba, two proposed Bills could not be tabled in the Assembly today. Besides, questions under 280 were also not raised due to persistent protest by AAP MLAs.

Sharma made the remarks during a discussion on homeless people and night shelters in the city, initiated through a calling attention motion by Vijender Gupta.
