New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday agreed to hear a plea by the Delhi government that the issue of the stifling of its administration by the Lt Governor and the Centre could only be decided by the top court.

The apex court bench headed by Chief Justice TS Thakur agreed to hear the matter on Monday as senior counsel KK Venugopal and Indira Jaisinh told the court that any dispute between the Centre and a state could only be decided by the top court as mandated by Article 131 of the Constitution.

 

 

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal`s government has moved the apex court seeking interpretation of Article 239A - special provision with respect to Delhi.

Delhi government has sought an urgent hearing of its plea as the high court has already reserved its verdict on a number of issues of conflict between Kejriwal government and the Centre over the administration of Delhi including control over the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB).
