A rear tire of the flight from Delhi to Kathmandu burst and the country's only international airport has been closed after the plane got stuck at runway.
All flights in and out of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) were halted for an hour after a tyre of Nepal Airlines Corporation Airbus A320 burst during landing, Kathmandu Post reported.
Minister Mahat was returning home after completing his two-day official visit to India to set the stage for upcoming trip of Prime Minister Prachanda from Thursday.
The plane suffered a minor damage after the landing gear was detached.
The tyre burst also caused some damage on the runway.
All the passengers onboard the plane are safe and have been shifted to the airport terminal.
Airport sources said they are trying to cart the jet to the parking-way from the runway.
The 158-seater plane named Lumbini was fully occupied, sources said.
