NSE Chief Chitra Ramkrishna quits over differences with board

Chitra Ramkrishna, Managing Director and CEO of National Stock Exchange has resigned over differences with its board.

Mumbai: Chitra Ramkrishna, Managing Director and CEO of National Stock Exchange has resigned over differences with its board.

Ramkrishna, whose tenure was scheduled to end in March 2018, has decided to quit with immediate effect. J Ravichandran, who is now the Group President at NSE, will take over temporary charge of the bourse.

Ramkrishna, who was part of the founding team of NSE, has been the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of National Stock Exchange of India since April 2013.

NSE Board has decided to immediately start process for selection of new CEO and has set up a selection panel to select new CEO.

The news came at a time when the exchange was preparing to hit the market with its initial public offering (IPO).

Chitra Ramakrishna, who is a chartered accountant by training, had her first stint in IDBI Bank in 1985 in project finance.
