Ongole is one of 25 Lok Sabha constituencies in Andhra Pradesh and is situated in the Prakasam district of the state. Almost 79 per cent of the population here lives in rural areas while SC constitutes 22.47 per cent of the entire population.

Ongole registered 85.23 percent voter turnout in Lok Sabha Election 2019, a gain of 5.04 percent from 2014. The total number of electors in the constituency is 1550067 while 1321109 came out to exercise their franchise. While in 2014, the constituency registered 80.19 percent voter turnout. The total number of electors in the constituency was 1480712 while 1187326 voted.
