Chandrapur Lok Sabha constituency, spread over Chandrapur and Yavatmal districts, is one of 48 Lok Sabha constituencies in the western state of Maharashtra. It covers six assembly segments – Rajura, Chandrapur, Ballarpur, Warora, Wani and Arni. While Chandrapur is reserved for Scheduled Caste, Arni is reserved for Scheduled Tribe candidates.

Chandrapur registered 64.65 percent voter turnout in Lok Sabha Election 2019, a gain of 0.99 percent from 2014. The total number of electors in the constituency is 1908564 while 1233836 came out to exercise their franchise. While in 2014, the constituency registered 63.66 percent voter turnout. The total number of electors in the constituency was 1752615 while 1115777 voted.

The first phase of voting in seven constituencies of Maharashtra ended on April 11. The fate of seven candidates will be decided on May 23 when counting of votes takes place and the result is declared.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha election, Hansraj Gangaram Ahir of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) – won with a huge margin of almost 2.36 lakh votes for the second consecutive time. He had defeated Indian National Congress (INC) Sanjay Wamanrao Deotale.

Ahir, is currently MoS Home Affairs. In the year 2009, Ahir had managed to secure his winning position by getting 32 thousand votes against INC's Naresh Kumar Puglia.
