Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Barack Obama met at the White House on Tuesday.

Washington: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Barack Obama met at the White House on Tuesday. This was the seventh meeting between them.

After the meeting they addressed a joint press conference during which PM Modi thanked Obama for supporting India's MTCR, NSG bid.

At the same time, India and the US promised to work together for the sake of global peace and security and the benefit of developing countries.

Leaders reaffirmed support for a reformed UNSC with India as permanent member and for addressing global development and security challenges: FS.

Earlier, the White House had said, "The President looks forward to discussing progress made on our climate change and clean energy partnership, security and defence cooperation, and economic growth priorities."

The two leaders are also expected to briefly scheduled to address the press inside the Oval Office for about 15 minutes.

Soon thereafter President Obama would host PM Modi for a working lunch in the Cabinet Room of the White House.
