90+3' - Convincing win for Arsenal. Glorious victory at home to climb to second spot in the league table.

90' - Fellaini committed a foul inside United half. Arsenal failed to capitalise from the free kick. 

88' - Wayne Rooney did a solo run, but his gung-ho effort ended with a tumble inside the Arsenal half, and no one to blame for.

86' - Giroud hit the target but his left footed effort from a Bellerin delivery could have given Arsenal the fourth. Poor finish.

85' - Corner for United after making a move from the left side. Valencia tried a long ranger, but his attempt was deflected off a defender, for the corner.

82' - Young United striker James Wilson on for Juan Mata. Moments ago, United won a throw-in on the right, with Martial getting the better of his opponent.

81' - United increased the tempo of the match, but so far, they have failed to translate any of the chances. Arsenal have so far defended well. And two-goal hero Alexis Sanchez replaced by Kieran Gibbs.

79' - Giroud, in his first touch, miraculously won a throw in on the left thanks to a back-heel which rebounded from a United player. From the throw in, Arsenal got a chance.

77' - Ramsey and Schweinsteiger involved in a tussle, after the German seemingly tucked his right foot on Ramsey, who was floored by Martial in the centre.

75' - A busy day for Theo Walcott is over. Olivier Giroud replaced him. And Mesut Ozil also return to the pit, giving way to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

73' - Fellaini, who was robed by Sanchez, returned to win back the ball from the Arsenal player, but there was too physicality in his chase. And foul. He escaped a booking with a warning from the referee.

70' - United have started to find gaps, and lots of space inside the Arsenal half. Bute everytime, they create a move, Cech was there to deny them. Made at least three brilliant stops in the last 10 minutes.

49' - Brilliant take from Petr Cech to thwart Ashley Young's long ranger. And suddenly, United have taken the initiative.

45+1' - Two minutes added. Arsenal won a free-kick inside the United half, but they have wasted the chance. United, in their attack, also wasted the chance with an off-side run.

43' - With 2 minutes into the first half whistle, Arsenal have pulled back their defence. But from a misdirected pass, United tried their best to find the goal. Then, Martial's shot on the target was blocked by Cech.

38' - Aaron Ramsey covered some distance to gain possession on the near corner , but his link up with Santi Cazorla failed to convert into anything tangible.

38' - From yet another Arsenal move, Rooney launched a counter attack, but his shot on the target was taken rather calmly by Petr Cech.

37' - Theo Walcott caught offside from a controlled, brave chested pass from Gabriel Paulista at the centre.

35' - What a miss for Aaron Ramsey. He was beautifully set up with a loft by Ozil after a nice little build up, but the Ramsey's soft volley missed the target by a whisker.

31' - Two back-to-back fouls won by United. First Coquelin tripped Martial on the right, then from the replay, Ramsey committing another foul.

31' - Bastian Schweinsteiger got into the action, in the midfield, combining with Rooney. But their build-up was cut short.

29' - But from a loose ball, Arsenal played a long ball with Sanchez on the run. Then, Darmian found himself booked for a late lunge on the Arsenal star. Booked.

29' - Suddenly, the pace of the game regained that frenetic pace witnessed in the opening spell. After a brief Arsenal control, United regained possession thanks to a Rooney tackle in the centre.

27' - Then, Rooney tried a cross-field ball for Young on the right, but the ball went out of play.

26' - Anthony Martial got his first real look at the goal, but waited for his team-mates as Arsenal players mobbed him in front of the goal. Wayne Rooney also took some time on the ball.

24' - Great skills from Santi Cazorla. The Spaniard tried a long ranger, taking time to measure the flight of the ball for a volley. His attempt just missed the target.

22' - Ashley Young booked for a foul on Aaron Ramsey.

19' - And a brilliant Alexis Sanchez flattened the United defence with an impressive drill from the edge of the box, which left De Gea useless, for the third goal.

16' - United are playing a patient football, keeping the ball, and waiting for any opening. But in their last attempt, Darmian sent the ball over the goal , while trying to produce a cross-field ball from the right.

13' - Still no clue for Manchester United players as they try to find answers that opening double strike from the Gunners.

10'- Finally, Red Devils managed to touch the ball as Arsenal seemed to have loosen the grip. 

7'- Then, within a minute, Mesut Ozil found the back of the United net with a nice left footed finish from a Theo Walcott through ball.

6'- It's all Arsenal in these early minutes. And that danger-man Alexis Sanchez scored the opener, from a brilliant team-play.

From the Santi Cazorla delivery, David De Gea punched away, only to see Arsenal winning the first corner of the match.

Then, as early as the second minute, Arsenal won a free-kick on the left flank with Darmian committing a foul.

Arsenal started from tghe centre. After a brief foray inside the United half, Gunners falled back to their own half, probing, to launch an attack.

PREVIEW

Arsenal welcome Manchester United in a huge game for both the clubs, historically and also in the present context, with Louis van Gaal's side starting as the favourites at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal have won just one of their last 13 English Premier League games against Manchester United.

Having lost a string of matches, Arsene Wenger will be under severe pressure, if they lost again. And considering their not so impressive record against United, Arsenal will need to go all out before the visitors take control.

For United, a win today will catapult them ahead of City at the top of the table and give further credence to their title credentials. Having won their last four matches in the row, United will enter to the game confident and hopeful.

Arsenal will be without injured Laurent Koscielny, Mathieu Flamini, Jack Wilshere, Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta annd Tomas Rosicky. but striker Olivier Giroud is expected to play after serving suspension.

But United have a near full strength squad, with Ander Herrera being the only notable absentee.
