Exit polls predict massive BJP victory in MCD elections: As it happened

The turnout by 4 PM was around 45 percent and we are very hopeful that the final tally will be beyond 54 percent, the voting percentage in the 2012 civic body polls in Delhi, says State Election Commissioner SK Srivastava.

Overall BJP to win 202-220 seats, AAP 23 to 35, Congress 19 to 31 and others 2-8 as per Axis India Today MCD exit poll.

North MCD - 78-84 seats to BJP, 8-12 to AAP and 8-12 to Congress, as per Axis India Today MCD exit poll.

East MCD - 45-51 seats to BJP, 6-10 to AAP and 4-8 to Congress, as per Axis India Today exit poll.

BJP to win 79 - 85 seats in South MCD, AAP 9 -13 and Congress 7-11 as per Axis India Today exit poll.

ABP News - In South Delhi, BJP winning (83) with AAP (9) second and the Congress (9) third.

ABP News - In North Delhi, BJP winning (88) with AAP (6) second, the Congress (7) third and others (3) fourth.

ABP News - BJP winning East Delhi (47) with the AAP (9) second, the Congress (6) third and others (2).

Counting of votes will be held on April 26.

In May last year, bypolls to 13 wards were held, in which the AAP had finished on top with five seats, followed by the Congress with 4, the BJP at 3. One seat had gone to an independent candidate. 

There are a total of 1,32,10,206 voters entitled to exercise their franchise in electing councillors for the wards falling under the three civic bodies - North Delhi Municipal Coporation (104), South Delhi Municipal Corporation (104) and East Delhi Municipal Corporation (64).
