Former Tamil Nadu CM and AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa was buried next to her mentor MGR at Chennai's Marina Beach in a tearful ceremony that was witnessed by millions of her ardent supporters.

The casket is being lowered into the spot of burial. 

Jayalalithaa's casket is being sealed. The 21-gun salute has begun.

The sandalwood casket is being closed. Jayalalithaa is being laid to rest finally.  

Her close aide Sasikala is now performing her last rites before she is buried.

The Tricolour that was draped around the body is now being removed before the body is lowered down into the earth. A priest is now moving towards her body.

Sasikala, her family members are seen seated in an enclosure near the spot of burial.

Thambidurai, former TN governor K Rosiah and many others pay their last respects to Jayalalithaa.
