BJP releases list of candidates for Jharkhand civic polls

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released the list of candidates for the Jharkhand civic bodies elections. The list was released during a press conference by state general secretary of the BJP, Dipak Prakash, in Ranchi.

The party has once again named Asha Lakra as its candidate for the mayor of Ranchi. For the post of deputy mayor, the BJP has chosen Sanjiv Vijaywargiya as its candidate. As its candidate for Adityapur mayor, the BJP has named Vinod Srivastava while Amit Singh has been selected as the deputy mayor candidate.

A total of 66 names feature in the list released for elections for municipal corporations, panchayat and municipalities.

In Hazaribagh, the BJP has fielded Roshni Tirkey and Rajkumar Lal for the post of president and vice president respectively. From Giridih, Sunil Paswan and Prakash Seth have been named as candidates while Raju Kachchap and Manishwar Sahu have been fielded from Gumla.

The BJP has fielded Pulsundari Devi and Omprakash Sahu from Simdega, while the candidates in Khunti are Arjun Pahan and Rakhi Kashyap.
