Indians celebrate Independence day in Israel    
Herzlia (Israel) Aug 15: More than seven hundred Indians from across the country turned up for the Independence day celebration in Israel on Friday.

India's ambassador to Israel Arun Kumar Singh hoisted the tri-colour during the event which was also accompanied by a cultural programme.

Malayalam songs "in praise of India and "the Indian flag" sung by a women group of Cochini Jews and the performance of Namaste France group to the tune of some bollywood tracks enchanted the audience during the event.

The president of Central Organisation of Indian Jews in Israel, Noah Massil said that the large gathering "shows how much the Indian community loves and respects its country of origin where there is no sign of anti-semitism."

The Indian Jewish community in Israel has been organising a series of cultural programme across the country to celebrate 60 years of India's and Israel's independence and 15 years of diplomatic relations between them.
