Sirsa Assembly Election Results 2024: Congress Candidate Gokul Setia Registers Victory Over Gopal Kanda By 7234 Votes

Sirsa Assembly Election Live Updates: The Sirsa Assembly constituency is one of the 90 constituencies in the Haryana Legislative Assembly. It is a general seat, not reserved for Scheduled Castes (SCs) or Scheduled Tribes (STs).

The major political parties contesting in the region include the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Congress, and the Haryana Lokhit Party. In 2019, Gopal Kanda of the Haryana Lokhit Party secured victory in Sirsa. The 2014 elections saw Makhan Lal Singla of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) win the seat.

In 2009, Independent candidate Gopal Kanda emerged victorious, while Congress candidate Lachhman Dass Arora claimed the seat in the 2000 and 2005 elections. According to Election Commission data, Sirsa had 1,51,610 registered voters during the 2019 Haryana Assembly elections, comprising 80,947 male voters and 70,177 female voters.

No third-gender voters were recorded. Additionally, 486 postal votes were cast, and there were 291 service voters (285 men and 6 women). Haryana's Sirsa seat is witnessing a key battle between the Haryana Lokhit Party (HLP) and the Congress. HLP's Gopal Kanda is pitted against Congress' Gokul Setia.

Congress candidate Gokul Setia received 79,020 votes. Meanwhile, Haryana Lokhit Party candidate Gopal Kanda and Jannayak Janta Party candidate Pawan Sherpura lost the election by margins of 7,234 votes and 77,258 votes, respectively.

After 7 hours of counting, Gokul Setia of INC is currently leading in Sirsa With 75414 votes. Gopal Kanda of HLP is currently in the second place with 69735 votes. 

2:10 PM: Haryana Lokhit Party Leader Gopal Kanda Is Trailing After Round 12

BJP Leader Gokul Setia is leading with 57944 votes. Meanwhile, Haryana Lokhit Party leader Gopal Kanda is trailing with 3302 votes so far.

11:50 AM: AAP Leader Shyam Sunder Trailing After 7 Rounds Of Voting In Sirsa 

Congress Leader Gokul Setia leads with 32,603 votes, followed by BJP's Gopal Kanda trailing with 31,057 votes, and AAP's Shyam Sunder with 334 votes.

11:15 AM: HLP's Leader Gopal Kanda And Independent Candidate CA Darvesh Swami Trailing 

Congress leader Gokul Setia leads with 23,799 votes so far, followed by HLP's Gopal Kanda with 21,029 votes. Independent candidate CA Darvesh Swami has received only 425 votes so far.

Congress leader Gokul Setia is leading in the initial trends with 4,798 votes, closely followed by Haryana Lokhit Party's Gopal Kanda, who has secured 4,727 votes so far.

INC candidate Gokul Setia is currently leading over LSP's Mani Ram as the vote counting progresses in Sirsa.
