New Delhi: Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim, who is serving a life term in jail in Haryana, was on Monday (February 7, 2022) granted a furlough for 21 days.

According to reports, he has been asked to stay at his farmhouse in Gurugram and won't be allowed to visit Sirsa, where his Dera is headquartered.

Gurmeet Ram Rahim is currently lodged in Sunaria jail in Rohtak district after his conviction in the cases of rape and murder.

In 2021, the Dera chief had been given emergency parole from sunrise to sunset to meet his ailing mother. He had also come out of jail on a couple of occasions on health grounds.

Singh, 54, is serving a 20-year jail term for raping two of his women disciples in his 'ashram' in Sirsa. He was convicted in August 2017 by a special CBI court in Panchkula.
