Washington DC: Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his address at the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. He spoke on issues of COVID-19 pandemic, terrorism, Afghanistan and climate change. 

Taking to Twitter, PM Modi wrote: "Landed in New York City. Will be addressing the UNGA at 6:30 PM (IST) on the 25th."

The theme for this year's General Debate is 'Building Resilience through hope to recover from COVID-19, rebuild sustainably, respond to the needs of the planet, respect the rights of people, and revitalise the United Nations.'

Meanwhile, on September 24, US President Joe Biden hosted PM Modi at the White House and said that today they are starting a new chapter in the US-India relationship. "Our two nations are the largest democracies in the world, and we’re committed to taking on the toughest challenges we face — together," Biden said.

The two leaders held their maiden bilateral meeting before attending the QUAD leaders Summit. PM Modi described the meeting as 'outstanding' and said that the Indo-US relationship is destined to be 'stronger, closer and tighter'.
