Janata Dal (United) Nagaland has decided to support the BJP in the formation of a stable govt in Nagaland.

This decision is taken after a serious consideration of the current verdict of the just-declared results of the conducted general election to the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly and also to safeguard the interest of the National Democratic Alliance in Delhi, says JD(U) Nagaland.

Meghalaya:

We're extremely happy. We contested on 20 seats and have won 11 seats. CPI used goondaism and got rejected by people, we have only used democratic methods to contest this election. Congress is not relevant in Tripura and Nagaland, says BJP's Ram Madhav on Northeast election results.

Be it Kerala, Bengal or Karnataka, the way two dozen workers were murdered there. Still, we maintained silence. When we take action they cry vendetta. This isn't vendetta but a step for the betterment of the nation, says PM.

He again talks about BJP workers who were 'killed' in Tripura and other states. 

A common misconception is that you have to be flashy to script a win like this, points out PM Modi.

I do not have the figures but I think the elected team in Tripura is the youngest ever team. Such young candidates successfully won people's confidence, says PM.

There was no celebrity used in this election, this victory has been achieved with limited resources, says PM Modi.

Northeast people always felt that Delhi is far away from them, BJP has brought Delhi to their doorsteps, says PM.

Though I have not made a house, so I don't know much, but in Vastu Shastra, it is said that Northeast of a house is at the centre. Things are organised keeping Northeast in mind. Similarly, our Northeast will lead the country’s development journey, says PM.

I am thankful to the voters of Northeast, It must be difficult to accept new govt and leaving the old rule behind. They must have gone through so much difficulty, so much that their anger vented out through voting, says PM Modi. 

The Northeast has today come forward to lead India on the path to development, emphasises PM Narendra Modi.

Election analysts in India will have to understand the journey from 'no one to one', from zero to peak. When the sun sets it is red in colour and when it rises it is saffron, says PM Modi.

The killings of our workers have been answered by the public of Tripura through their vote, says PM.

This is the strength of a democracy that the poorest of the poor have replied the wound that they received with vote, he adds. 

I was surprised to see the reactions of Left leaders today. They talk about democracy but when they lose, they don't take it well, says PM Modi.

Winning and losing is a part of democracy. If one loses then one should accept defeat with sportsman spirit, says PM.

The BJP's golden period will come when we form governments in Karnataka, West Bengal, Odisha and Kerala, says Amit Shah.

Victory after victory is a positive sign. This has boosted our confidence even more for 2019, he adds.

Even if we don't count Meghalaya, BJP and NDA has governance in 21 states across the nation today. Mandate after mandate has been in the favor of Narendra Modi ji and his government, says Shah.

In Tripura BJP and allies won all 20 tribal seats, Shah emphasises.

Earlier, it was believed that BJP is restricted to the Hindi belt. Today's results have shown that the claim is not true, says Amit Shah. 

It has been proved that Left (parties) is not right for any part of the country. Nobody likes the Left, says Shah. 

Northeast results are an indicator of things to come in 2019, points out BJP chief.  

We will march towards Karnataka, with this massive victory with us, says Shah.

Ram Madhav gave indications of the BJP strategy, saying: "There is a possibility of a non-Congress government in Meghalaya and our effort would be towards that."

The BJP`s leading candidates included state party President Biplab Kumar Deb (Banamalipur), who could be the next Chief Minister of the state. The other winners are Sudip Roy Barman (Agartala), Ratanlal Nath (Mohanpur), A. Rampada Jamatia (Bagma), Dilip Kumar Das (Barjala), Diba Chandra Hrangkhawl (Karamchara), Ashish Kumar Saha (Bordowali), Ratan Chakraborty (Khayerpur), Atul Debbarma (Krishnapur) and Sushanta Chowdhury (Majlishpur).
