Prayagraj: "Today is the auspicious day of Sankrant, the first day of Maghi... There are 13 akharas. Twelve of them did the 'snan'. We are of the Nirmala Sampraday. We are the 13th Akhara and we just did our 'snan'. In the Mahakumbh of 2025, the management is very well. There is cleanliness. Water and electricity facilities are managed well... I did my first Kumbh in 1977, and after that, I attended all the Ardh Kumbh Melas. The management used to be very poor... The management is very well under the Yogi government... We are of the Nirmala Sampraday. We are Sanatani and worship Ganga Ji. We take a dip in every Kumbh, organise Langar and perform our prayers...," says a saint belonging to the Nirmala Akhara.

Prayagraj: With Maha Kumbh Mela now in its full splendour, devotees from India and abroad are immersed in partaking an experience that is unique, unmatched and has a deep and lasting impact. Foreign devotees are excited as much about the religious fervour as about the friendliness of devotees, food and the local arrangements. The cold weather is adding to the excitement.
Tracey, who travelled from Israel to attend Maha Kumbh Mela told ANI that she is loving the sights and sounds of Kumbh mela. "Amazing, the people are amazing. The colours are amazing. The religion is amazing, we love it."
Edal, also from Israel, said it's been a wonderful experience. "We have just enjoyed every minute, the people, the place, the food. We have had a dip, a little bit of cold for us."
Over 35 million devotees took a holy dip in the Sangam on Tuesday, the day of the first 'Shahi Snan.’
Another devotee, who preferred to remain anonymous, said Maha Kumbh has been an "amazing" experience.
"I love the people, I love the culture, I love the food, I love everything about India. I will come again. It is not my first and it's not my last," she said.

Kumbh Mela 2025 Live: Muslim Youth Detained Near Yati Narasimhanand Giri's Camp
A Muslim youth, identified as Ayub from Etah, was detained late Monday night near the Dudheshwar Nath Mahadev Kumbh Mela camp, where Mahant Yati Narasimhanand Giri of Dasna Devi Temple was staying. Akhada police station in-charge Bhaskar Mishra confirmed that Ayub, who was found near the camp under Shastri Bridge in the Maha Kumbh Mela area, was questioned by SOT and STF. Authorities stated he came seeking food and drink, and no incriminating items were found on him.

Prayagraj: On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, marking the second royal bath of the Maha Kumbh, saints and sages from 13 prominent akharas participated in the sacred Amrit Snan on Tuesday from morning until noon. According to the fair administration, by 3 PM, more than 25 million devotees had taken a holy dip in the sacred waters of the Ganga and Sangam, seeking spiritual blessings. The Amrit Snan ritual began with the sanyasi akharas, where saints from Shri Panchayati Akhara Mahanirvani and Shri Shambhu Panchayati Atal Akhara led the procession.
