Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Budget 2023-24 in Parliament today (Wednesday), 01 February. During this session, the Finance Minister said that the world has considered the Indian economy as a shining star. She said that there are 7 priorities in this budget. At the same time, while talking about the farmers, Nirmala Sitharaman said that emphasis will be laid on digital growth in the agriculture sector. With this, Nirmala Sitharaman said that the government's focus is on creating new jobs. The Finance Minister has also made a big announcement for the taxpayers. Now in the new tax regime, no tax will have to be paid on annual income up to Rs 7 lakh.

'There is nothing in this Budget for any section of society': Himachal CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu

The Chief Minister Sukhu said the people were waiting for the "achhe din" as lured by the BJP in 2014. The Union government has lost its only opportunity to fulfill announcements as per the promises before the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2024.

"The Budget lacks the vision for the employment sector and no reasonable thinking has been made in this direction. There is no mention of urban employment and farmers who were expecting a raising loan limit. There was no announcement for subsidies on the farming tools or fertilizers" Sukhu said.

Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Wednesday took a veiled jibe at the Centre for its Union Budget presented in the Parliament and said that it should be for the country instead of being for a party. The BSP chief said in a series of tweets, "Whenever the Centre talks about the beneficiaries of a scheme, it must remember that India is a vast country of about 130 crore poor people, labourers, deprived citizens, farmers etc. who are yearning for their Amrit Kaal. Terming the Union Budget "anti-people", West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, "This Union Budget is not futuristic, totally opportunistic, anti-people and anti-poor.
