The ruling party in Uttar Pradesh won unopposed in 14 seats in Agra. In Barauli Aheer, BJP defeated SP where polling was held.

In Barabanki's Bindura block, SP's Ramu Gupta defeats BJP's Anoop Rawat by 2 votes, BJP candidate got 56 votes while SP got 58 votes.

"State Law Commission has given a proposal for population control and welfare. We've proposed that any couple that follows two-child policy will be given all govt benefits. They'll be able to avail all govt welfare schemes," UP Law Commission chairman Aditya Nath Mittal told ANI. 

This system will be voluntary, if a person voluntarily keeps the number of his family members limited, they will be eligible for govt schemes. We are planning to present this by the second week of August: Mittal

"Abu Aslam Azmi summoned by Goa NCB today in connection with the drugs matter related to peddler Sufran Lakdawala who was arrested on 8th July.
