Amid ongoing protests against new agri laws, farmer unions to take call on Centre's letter on Wednesday.

Sarwan Singh Pandher, Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee: Govt has decided its position regarding the farm laws that they'll not be withdrawn. They released a letter stating that if farmers want amendments in these laws, they must provide date and time for discussion. This is not a step forward by the govt but a way to trick farmers. A normal person would think that farmers are stubborn but the fact is that we don't seek amendments in farm laws, we want them to be completely shunned.

PM Narendra Modi is attending the centenary celebrations of Aligarh Muslim University via video conferencing. He released a postal stamp during the event. AMU Chancellor Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin and Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank also present on the occasion.

Maharashtra BJP leaders meet Anna Hazare, urge him not to go on protest

Days after social activist Anna Hazare warned of resuming his hunger strike if his demands concerning farmers were not met by the central government, Maharashtra BJP leaders Haribhau Bagade and Bhagwat Karad, MP, met him in his hometown Ralegansiddhi and requested him to not go on protest with his demands. 

A release from Anna Hazare's office said the 'BJP delegation' stated that the demands put forward by Anna Hazare are for the benefit of farmers and soon a solution will be found. They also said that looking at his age, he should not go on protest.
