Department of Agri., Coop. & Farmers’ Welfare: Narendra Singh Tomar, Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Piyush Goyal, Minister of Railways & Commerce and Som Prakash, Minister of State, Ministry of Commerce and Industries interacted with the representatives of Farmers Organizations of Punjab on December 1, 2020, in Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. 

During the interaction, it has been suggested by the Government to the representatives of Farmers Union to identify the specific issues related to Farm Reform Acts and share with the Government on 02.12.2020 for consideration. These issues will be discussed during the fourth round of meeting to be held on 03.12.2020.

It was assured that the Government of India is always committed to protect the interest of farmers and is always open for discussions for farmers’ welfare.

Few farmers' union leaders after meeting with Centre:

Chief Public Relation Officer, Western Railway: Due to Kisan agitation in Punjab, train movement has been affected and hence, few trains have been diverted and certain trains have been short terminated & accordingly short originated. (ANI input)

Zee News talked to the farmers' leaders who participated in the meeting with the Centre. Most of the farmers' leaders have rejected Centre's proposal on formation of the committee to resolve the deadlock. They added that the protests will continue till the Government takes back the new agricultural laws.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah may also remain present at the meeting with farmer unions at Vigyan Bhawan at 3  pm today.

Chairman of Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee Anil Kumar will go to Burari in support of the farmers who have been protesting at the border points in the national capital against the central farm laws. Kumar will visit Burari at 1 pm today and will inspect the kitchen of the Congress running there.

Haryana: Independent MLA Sombir Sangwan withdraws his support from the Manohar Lal Khattar led-Harayana government. 

"In light of the atrocities committed on the farmers, I hereby withdraw my support to the current govt," Sangwan was quoted as saying by ANI. 

The meeting between government and farmer unions has been called at 3 pm at Vigyan Bhawan in the national capital on Tuesday. Agriculture minister Narendra Tomar said that those leaders who were present in the meeting held on November 13 have been invited this time.

Farmer unions accept Centre's offer for talks over farm laws:

Farmer unions decided to attend a meeting with the Centre as protesters continued their agitation at Delhi border points against the government's new farm laws. "In our meeting, we have decided to accept the central government's offer to hold talks at 3 pm today. Representatives of protesting farmers will attend the meeting with Union ministers," farmer leader Baljeet Singh Mahal said.

RS Mansa, State President, Punjab Kisan Union says, "I will attend the meeting called by the government at 3 pm today."

Top ministers hold meet before Rajnath Singh leads talks with farmers, say sources. 

A key meeting is underway at the residence of BJP party president JP Nadda. The meeting began at 11:00 am and are attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. The meeting is focussed on the protests carried out by farmers against the farm laws.

All India Taxi Union threatens to go on strike if demands of agitating farmers not met within 2 days

The All India Taxi Union on Monday threatened to go on strike if the demands of the farmers, protesting against the Centre's new farm laws at different border points of the national capital, are not met within two days.

President of the Union, Balwant Singh Bhullar, said they are giving two days to the central government to meet the demands of the farmers.

More farmers today join protesting farmers at Uttar Pradesh Gate against farm laws, and raise slogans and attempt to break barricades. However, Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) farmers said that they have asked the fresh slot of farmers to not break barricades or indulge in any activity that damages public properties.
 

Tikri border is closed for any traffic movement.

Badusarai and Jhatikara Borders are open only for two wheeler traffic.

Farmers in Ambala raised slogans of 'Kisan Ekta Zindabad' and showed black flags to Haryana minister Anil Vij outside Panjokhra Sahib Gurudwara. According to ANI, the incident took place on Monday.

Delhi Traffic Police issues advisory, says both Singhu and Tikri borders closed for traffic movement. 

"Tikri border is closed for any Traffic Movement. Badusarai and Jhatikara Borders are open only for two wheeler traffic. Available Open Borders to Haryana are following Borders Jharoda, Dhansa, Daurala, Kapashera, Rajokri NH 8, Bijwasan/Bajghera, Palam vihar and Dundahera,” the Delhi Traffic Police said on Twitter.

"Singhu Border is still closed from both sides. Please take alternate route. Traffic has been diverted from Mukarba Chowk and GTK road. Traffic is very very heavy. Please avoid outer ring road from signature bridge to Rohini & Vice versa, GTK road, NH 44 and Singhu border," it said in another tweet.

Along with police force, a team of paramilitary forces also deployed at Delhi-UP Gate border where thousands of protesting farmers have assembled against the farm laws.

There are more than 500 groups of farmers in the country, but the Govt has invited only 32 groups for talks. The rest haven't been called by the govt. We won't be going for talks till all groups are called: Sukhvinder S Sabhran, Jt Secy, Punjab Kisan Sangarsh Committee in Delhi

A release issued by the Agriculture Ministry on Monday stated that the leaders and representatives of farmer groups have been invited to attend a high-level meeting on Tuesday around 3 p.m.

The development came a day after the protesting farmers rejected the Centre's offer to start talks as soon as they move to Burari and continued to stay put Singhu and Tikri borders of the national capital.

The Centre on Nov 30 night invited agitating farmer unions for talks on December 1, two days ahead of a scheduled meeting, as their stir against the new agri-marketing laws appeared to intensify despite a strong defence of the legislation by the government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi who accused the opposition of 'playing tricks' on farmers again through misinformation.
