Delhi Election 2025 Live Updates: Anurag Thakur Slams AAP As 'Anti-Women' Party 

BJP leader Anurag Thakur on Friday criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its chief, Arvind Kejriwal, ahead of the upcoming Delhi elections. Thakur stated that Kejriwal would face a significant defeat, arguing that the people of Delhi were dissatisfied with AAP's handling of issues such as pollution, water quality, and the Yamuna River.

He also accused the AAP of being “anti-women,” referencing an incident involving party MP Swati Maliwal. Thakur claimed that Maliwal had been called to Kejriwal's residence, where she was allegedly assaulted. He further alleged that the party had shown a lack of respect toward women, particularly in how they have handled women’s issues in Delhi.

Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh came out heavily at the Bharatiya Janata Party, saying that no matter how hard Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath try, the BJP will be "wiped out" in the upcoming Delhi assembly elections. Speaking to ANI, Sanjay Singh said, "No matter how hard UP CM Yogi Adityanath, PM Modi try or they could even call US President Donald Trump to campaign, BJP will be wiped out in the Delhi elections."

AAP MP Sanjay Singh questioned the Election Commission's ability to ensure fair elections, saying if it can't stop BJP candidates from distributing goods in the New Delhi assembly constituency, how can it ensure fair elections across the country.

"Sometimes the BJP candidate distributes 'chadar', 'lota', 'chashma', shoes and money openly. The office of the Election Commission of India is in the New Delhi assembly constituency. When the Election Commission of India is not able to stop the discrepancies (happening in the New Delhi assembly constituency) how will it ensure fair elections in the nation?," the AAP leader said.

Gangsters are roaming freely in Delhi, 11 big gangster groups have divided Delhi into 11 parts and extortion is being demanded from businessmen. Delhi roads are witnessing gang wars. Yogi ji said that he has fixed law and order in Uttar Pradesh. I don't know whether law and order have improved in Uttar Pradesh or not. If Yogi ji is saying that he has improved UP's law and order, then he should guide Amit Shah on how to do it in Delhi. He should guide Amit Shah on how to end 'gangster raj' in Delhi," he said.

Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal hit back at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's criticism of the Delhi government over the law and order situation, and said the law and order of the national capital comes under the Union Home Ministry and the former should guide Home Minister Amit Shah regarding how to mend it.

Speaking on the law and order situation in the national capital, the former Delhi CM said that "11 gangsters" have captured the entire Delhi. Attacking Amit Shah, further, Kejriwal said the Home Minister is busy "toppling governments" and "poaching MLAs".

Speaking to the media, Kejriwal said, "Yogi ji came to Delhi today. He too raised questions on the law and order in Delhi. He said that he mended the law and order in UP. I agree with Yogi ji that Delhi's law and order is very bad.11 gangsters have captured the entire Delhi. Yogi Ji said that he wiped out gangsters in UP. But in Delhi, gangsters are roaming around freely. Firing is taking place on streets. Women can't step out of their houses."

"I would like to tell Yogi ji that the law and order in Delhi come under Amit Shah. He should sit down with Amit Shah and guide him, explain to him how law and order has to be mended. Amit Shah is busy toppling governments and poaching MLAs," he added. Kejriwal's remark came after CM Yogi slammed the AAP government in Delhi on the issue of illegal migrants and more.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday assailed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), saying its government has turned Delhi into a "garbage dump" and "den of chaos" while helping illegal Bangladeshis and Rohingyas to settle down in the national capital.

Addressing his first rally in the Kirari area for the February 5 Delhi Assembly polls, Adityanath alleged that in a well-planned conspiracy, AAP deprived Delhiites of basic facilities and jeopardised national security with their actions. He also accused AAP's councillors and MLAs of being complicit in the entire plot, adding that AAP convener and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has committed the crime of converting the Yamuna into a "dirty drain".

"Yesterday, I along with all my ministers took a holy dip at the Sangam in Prayagraj where Maha Kumbh is on. I want to ask Kejriwal whether he can bathe in the Yamuna in Delhi along with his ministers. He should answer if he has any moral courage," Yogi said in Kirari.
