Bhupendra Patel's Cabinet ministers in the first list

The ministers include in Gujarat CM Bhu[endra Patel's new cabinet are Kanu Desai, Rishikesh Patel, Raghvji Patel, Balvantsinh Rajput, Kunvarji Bavaliya, Mulu Bera, Kuber Dindor, and Bhanuben Babariya. Who is Bhupendra Patel, the soft-spoken face of BJP in Gujarat and CM for second straight term?

Bhupendra Patel is Bharatiya Janata Party's soft-spoken face in Gujarat, who has retained the chief ministerial chair for the second straight term. He made his way up in Gujarat politics from the municipality level and is the first from the Kadva Patidar sub-group to be the chief minister.

Born in Ahmedabad, Patel is an MLA from the Ghatlodia seat, previously held by former Gujarat chief minister and now Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel.

Fondly called as 'Dada' by many, he is considered to be close to Anandiben Patel.

In the past, Patel had served as the chairman of the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) between 2015 and 2017.

Before that, he was also the standing committee chairman of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), the largest urban local body in Gujarat, between 2010 and 2015.

Before contesting the Assembly election, he was active in local politics and became a member of Memnagar Municipality in Ahmedabad district, serving as its president twice.

Patel holds a diploma in civil engineering. He is married to Hetalben, a housewife.

The BJP last week clinched a historic victory in Gujarat, winning 156 seats in the 182-member state assembly. In Ghatlodia, Bhupendra Patel beat his nearest rival by more than 1.92 lakh votes. 

The BJP had appointed Bhupendra Patel, a first-time MLA, as Gujarat chief minister to replace Vijay Rupani in September 2021. The party had also changed the entire cabinet to reset the overall government.
