Himachal Pradesh records 65.92% polling till 5 pm

The highest polling of 72.35 per cent was recorded in Sirmour district followed by 68.48 per cent in Solan and 67.67 per cent in Una and 67.5 per cent in Lahaul and Spiti.

Shillai recorded the highest 77 per cent turnout while Sarkaghat recorded the lowest 55.40 per cent, among the 68 assembly constituencies in the hill state, the poll panel said.

Seraj constituency in Mandi district from where Chief Minister Jairam Thakur is contesting and Sujanpur recorded 74 per cent polling, according to the provisional figures. Among the other constituencies, Anni recorded polling of 63.65 per cent, Arki 66 per cent, Churah 60.83 per cent and Dalhousie 63 per cent.

World's highest polling station Tashigang records 98.08% voter turnout

As per ANI, World`s highest polling station booth in Lahaul and Spiti`s Tashigang recorded around 98.08% voter turnout on Saturday. Of the 52 registered voters, 51 stepped out to elect a new state government amid polling in Himachal Pradesh. 

Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Himachal Pradesh chief minister Shanta Kumar cast his vote in Palampur in the Assembly elections on Saturday, news agency ANI reported.

Voting for Himachal Pradesh Assembly Elections 2022 Ends

Polling for Himachal ended at 5 p.m. Results will be announced on December 8, 2022.

The highest polling of 62.75 per cent was recorded in Lahaul and Spiti district, followed by 60.38 per cent in Sirmour and 58.9 per cent in Mandi, the home district of Chief Minister Jairam Thakur.

Mandi Has Highest Voter Turnout of 41.17% by 1 pm, Lahaul & Spiti Lowest

Voter turnout in Himachal Pradesh increased to 37.19 percent by 1 pm in Himachal Pradesh, where the chilly weather possibly led to lower turnout earlier in the morning. The highest turnout was recorded in Mandi, the home district of CM Thakur, EC data shows.
