In No Mood To Relent: India Goes Tough On Canada, Plans THIS BIG Action Over Khalistan Issue

Ever since Canadian PM Justin Trudeau alleged hands of Indian agents behind the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, the tensions between New Delhi and Ottawa have been as high as ever. While India sent back 41 Canadian diplomats, the Trudeau government called it a violation of international law, another allegation rejected by the Ministry of External Affairs of India. Now amid all these, the Indian government is planning to take big action against Canada over the Khalistani issue.

According to a Zee News TV report, India is planning to move FATF (Financial Action Task Force) against Canada's soft stand towards terror elements. The FATF is an international organisation that looks after money laundering terrorism financing issues. If a nation is found violating any parameters set by it, the FATF imposes various sanctions on that country.

According to the report, India has shared evidence with Canada related to Khalistani terror funding multiple times in the past but Ottawa chose not to take any action in the guise of freedom of speech. Now, India is reportedly planning to lodge a formal complaint against Canada in the FATF and will submit a dossier consisting of all pieces of evidence so far. 

While sending Canada to the FATF Grey List is not going to be an easy task for India, a formal complaint against the North American country will certainly put its reputation at stake highlighting the issue of Canada becoming a breeding ground for terrorism.

The report also said that India may also lodge a complaint against Canadian diplomats and submit necessary evidence. It may be recalled that India's foreign ministry has said that Canadian diplomats posted in India were interfering in the country's internal affairs. Minister of External Affairs Dr S Jaishankar had termed Canada a safe haven for violence, terrorism and secessionism.
