Cold wave grips Delhi, minimum temperature recorded at 7 degree Celsius

New Delhi: On Sunday, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 7-degree Celsius registering a dip of 4-degree Celsius since Saturday. The weather department had earlier predicted about the chances of a temperature drop in the national capital which is likely to bring back cold wave conditions.
The air quality showed a slight improvement with the overall AQI at 208. The nearby regions of Noida, Gurugram also saw improvement with AQI recorded at 281 and 199 respectively.
The capital was also engulfed in dense fog which delayed 17 Delhi-bound trains on Sunday. There are also chances of rain on January 21 as per the weather agency.
Other states, like Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh were also covered with a blanket of dense fog. As per weather forecast by India Meteorological Department (IMD), cold day conditions will continue in Haryana, Western Uttar Pradesh, North Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh in which maximum temperature will remain at 16 degrees.
For Sunday the IMD forecast said, "Cold day conditions very likely at isolated pockets over Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi and Punjab.''
