Delhi Metro services affected again, technical snag hits Blue Line

New Delhi: Services on Delhi Metro's Blue Line were delayed on Thursday (June 9, 2022) during the morning rush hours after damage to the Over Head Electrification wire, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said. Taking to its official Twitter account, the DMRC informed that the delay in services has been between Dwarka Sector 21 and Noida Electronic City/Vaishali metro stations.

Normal services resumed after a few hours, the DMRC said.

Providing an update on the Blue Line, the Delhi Metro said that there has been damage to the Over Head Electrification wire due to a flashover by an external object between Yamuna Bank and Indraprastha.

Blue Line Update

There has been damage to the Over Head Electrification wire due to flash over by an external object between Yamuna Bank and Indraprastha. Repair work is being done on a war footing.

Earlier on Monday, the services on Delhi Metro's Blue Line were disrupted for nearly an hour and a half as services across the corridor were impacted due to a technical snag, officials said.

"Train services between Yamuna Bank and Indraprastha stations of the Blue Line were affected from 6.35 PM to 8 PM to undertake repair work of a broken contact wire (part of OHE or overhead equipment) on the Up Line (going towards Dwarka) due to some external object (bird) hitting the OHE/pantograph of the train," the DMRC had said in a statement.

Huge swarms of crowd were seen at several stations, particularly at Indraprastha metro station.

Meanwhile, several people took to Twitter to slam DMRC for the continuous snags.

"You people doing the same on a daily basis If you don't manage metro then why don't you take any serious actions against concerning person Once a while anyone can understand but this is happening daily basis," a Twitter user wrote to DMRC.

"Why there are soo many delays due to TECHNICAL GLITCH . It is not happening in other countries even with 2 min delays they publicly apologize and by that mean our DMRC should rename themselves as SMRC (Sorry Metro Rail coorporation) because there are having TECHNICAL GLITCH daily," a user wrote.
