Clash breaks out between two groups at JNU, Delhi Police registers FIR

New Delhi: A clash between two groups has been reported at Jawahar Lal Nehru University, Delhi on Thursday, November 10, 2022. Men walking with sticks were seen on campus. Reports say that outsiders were involved in the fight as well.

According to agency reports, the clash broke out due to a personal dispute. Two students have been injured according to Delhi Police. A few video clips that were circulated on social media showed some students with sticks running on the campus. No immediate reaction was available from the university administration.

A senior police officer said there was a fight between two male students over a personal issue, following which their friends joined in. During the fight, two students sustained minor injuries.

"The fight was between two students and there is no political group involved. It is a matter of personal dispute between the duo," he said.

However, Delhi Police have registered an FIR in Vasant Kunj Police Station. Students of Left and ABVP were named in the FIR, according to reports.
