Bahraich Murder Case: Accused Sarfaraz Injured In Encounter With UP STF; 5 Arrested
In a first breakthrough in the Bahraich murder case, an accused named Sarfaraj has been injured in an ecounter by the Uttar Pradesh Police's STF.

Bahraich Violence: In a first breakthrough in the Bahraich murder case, an accused named Sarfaraj has been injured in an encounter with the Uttar Pradesh Police's STF. As per reports, Sarfaraj was trying to flee to Nepal but was nabbed by the Special Task Force (STF) near Handa Baseri canal in Nanpara of Uttar Pradesh. As per reports, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been informed about the encounter and arrest of other accused.
"A total of five people who are the main accused in the case have been arrested. A short exchange of fire took place in which two people were injured. The injured are Sarfaraz and Mohammad Talib. There is no death and the injured have been taken to the hospital," Amitabh Yash, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), Special Task Force, said.
According to Bahraich Police Circle Officer, two people were injured in the encounter and were admitted in a hospital for treatment. Sarfaraj is son of Abdul Hameed, another accused in the murder case of Ram Gopal Mishra. Another accused who was injured has been identified as Talib. The UP STF has arrested all the five key accused in the case including Abdul Hameed. The accused were trying to flee to Nepal.

Detailing the incidnet, SP Bahraich, Vrinda Shukla said, "When the Police team went to Nanpara area for the recovery of the murder weapon, Md Sarfaraz alias Rinku and Md Talib alias Sablu had kept the murder weapon in a loaded state, which they used to fire on the police. In self-defence, police resorted to retaliatory fire, which injured the two. They are undergoing treatment. We have arrested the other three accused as well. All 5 have been officially arrested. Strict action will be taken against all of them...Search is going on for the other accused."
Mishra was killed by a mob after communal clashes broke out between two communities during a Durga idol immersion procession in the Mahasi area of Bahraich district, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met Mishra's family and had promised justice to the family. He said that the culprits will not be spared.
The postmortem report of Mishra revealed chilling details of the murder. As per report, Mishra died of 'excessive bleeding'. Bahraich Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dr Sanjay Kumar Sharma told ANI that there were 25 to 30 pellets injuries found during the post-mortem of the victim. The CMO said, "The information that we have - that man died of excessive bleeding due to 25-30 pellets injuries. There are some injury marks above his left eye and on the toes. Some part of the nails of both the feet is also missing."
