Aligarh Assembly Results 2022 LIVE: BJP's Mukta Raja leading with over 1.2 lakh votes

Aligarh Election Results 2022: The election in the Aligarh assembly constituency of Aligarh district is being fought from five corners as all the four prominent parties i.e. BJP, Congress, SP and BSP, and AAP who had newly joined the elections in UP have launched their candidates in the contest. While BJP, BSP, and AAP have fielded female candidates Mukta Raja, Razia Khan, and Monika Thapar respectively. Congress has fielded Md. Salman Imtiyaz and SP have once again given Aligarh's command to Zarfar Alam who was the runner-up in the 2017 Assembly elections.

In the Aligarh Vidhan Sabha seat that falls under Aligarh district BJP's Mukta Raja is leading with 120389 votes while SP's Zafar Alam is trailing with 107603 votes.

The assembly seat witnessed a tough competition between BJP's Mukta Raja and SP's Zafar Alam and  Congress's Salman Imtiyaz. BJP and SP have a tough fight for this seat in the assembly polls.

While SP has once again put the Aligarh assembly constituency's fate in Zafar Alam's hands BJPhas fielded the wife of 2017 Assembly polls winner Sanjeev Raja for the 2022 assembly elections.

BJP candidate in Aligarh:

Instead of choosing the 2017 Assembly polls' winner Sanjeev Raja the saffron party gave the ticket to his wife for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections 2022. Sanjeev Raja in the 2017 Assembly polls won the seat with a margin of 15,440 votes against the runner-up from SP.

SP candidate in Aligarh:

SP once again has put the fate of Aligarh Assembly seats in the hands of Zafar Alam who in the 2017 Assembly elections lost the seat to BJP candidate Sanjeev Raja with a huge margin of over 15,000 votes. 

INC candidate in Aligarh:

The Congress party is fighting the UP Assembly elections on its own unlike the 2017 Assembly polls when it formed an alliance with the Samajwadi Party. Congress pitched Md. Salman Imtiyaz to contest the Assembly polls from the Aligarh constituency.
