New Delhi: A woman, and 2 children were found dead near railway tracks in Delhi's Narela. Three bodies, including that of a woman and two children, with injuries on their heads were found near railway tracks in northwest Delhi's Narela area, police said on Saturday.

A senior police officer from the railway division said they have recovered three bodies. The case is now being investigated by the outer north district police, he said.

A case under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered, police said, adding that the the woman is around 30 years old and the kids are aged approximately three and four years. The crime and forensic science laboratory teams were called to the spot for the examination, they said and investigation is underway.

Several teams have been formed and efforts are being made to identify the bodies. It might be possible that the woman is the mother of the kids, however, it will be ascertained after the identification of the bodies, police said. Prima facie, sexual assault has been ruled out. However, things will only be clear after the post-mortem examination, they said.
