Colin Trevorrow no longer directing 'Star Wars: Episode IX'

New Delhi: Seems like, the force isn't with the 'Star Wars' franchise as another one of its movies lost its director!

Colin Trevorrow became the latest director to part ways with a 'Star Wars' project, months after Phil Lord and Chris Miller were fired from the 'Star Wars' Han Solo spinoff.

Lucasfilm announced about the 'Jurassic World' filmmaker in a statement that read, " Lucasfilm and Colin Trevorrow have mutually chosen to part ways on Star Wars: Episode IX."

"Colin has been a wonderful collaborator throughout the development process but we have all come to the conclusion that our visions for the project differ. We wish Colin the best and will be sharing more information about the film soon," it further read.

Who knew there were so many creative differences in that galaxy far, far away? First came the extensive reshoots on 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' after director Gareth Edwards took an unorthodox approach to filming, then in June, the untitled Han Solo movie lost its directors, Lord and Miller.

Back in May 2015, Josh Trank was fired from an untitled 'Star Wars Story' film. The 'Fantastic Four' director later said that he left it because he "wanted to do something original."

A replacement for Trevorrow, who was announced as 'Episode IX' director in 2015 soon after the success of 'World,' has not been confirmed.

The 'Episode IX' film, which concludes the third trilogy of 'Star Wars' movies that began with 2015's 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens,' is due to be released in May 2019.

Rian Johnson is directing the trilogy's middle installment, 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi,' which hits the screens in mid-December this year.
