Try these simple ways to relieve in-flight ear pain!

Though we all enjoy flight journeys as they are quick and convenient, but it can be painfull as well if you experience pain in the ears especially during takeoffs and landings.

New Delhi: Though we all enjoy flight journeys as they are quick and convenient, but it can be painfull as well if you experience pain in the ears especially during takeoffs and landings.

Ear pain is often caused by the unequal pressures that develops on either side of the eardrum as the plane descends.

Here are some ways to relieve in-flight ear pain:

Blowing the nose

This is the simplest way that works by allowing the pressure in the inner ear to equalise with the surrounding air pressure, providing quick relief from ear pain.

Yawning and swallowing

Yawning and swallowing helps to get relieve from in-flight stimulates the muscles to unblock Eustachian tubes while landing of he plane.

Eat sweets

If you feel ear pain during plane ride then try sucking sweets and gently blowing against a closed nose and mouth will usually push air into the middle ear, equalise the pressure and ease the pain.

Take medications

If you can’t bear with ear pain, then taking a painkiller around half an hour before the flight takes off or lands.
