New Delhi: A study conducted at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has found that increasing level of pollution has a correlation with a rise in arthritis symptoms.

Experts from AIIMS conducted the study with one thousand Delhi residents and have found significant correlation in arthritis and the pollution level in Delhi which is on the rise.

The primary level of study which alarmed the experts was with a group of 500 arthritic patients whose condition worsened with rise in SPM levels.

Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic inflammatory disorder affecting many joints, including those in the hands and feet — the body’s immune system attacks its own tissue, including joints, and in severe cases, attacks internal organs.
