Pregnant doctor helps deliver another woman's child as her own baby comes calling!

New Delhi: A US-based doctor did something remarkable recently and the Internet just can't stop going gaga over her.

Heavily pregnant Dr Amanda Hess was about to go into labour for her own delivery when she overheard nurses talking about another woman who was experiencing difficulties.

Without thinking much, Dr Hess rushed to help deliver the woman's baby. It all happened when when Dr Hess came to know that the patient was wailing in pain because the baby was in distress.

It is said that the woman, Leah Halliday Johnson, was in labour with her umbilical cord wrapped around her baby's neck.

Leah's doctor was still on the way to the hospital, but Dr Hess knew that the baby needed immediate attention. So, she sprang into action immediately.

Dr Hess was quoted as saying,"I just put on another gown to cover up my backside and put on some boots over my shoes, to keep from getting any fluid and all that stuff on me, and went down to her room."

Amanda, who is a specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology, later gave birth to her second child, daughter Ellen Joyce.

Both the mothers and their babies are now reportedly in good health.
