Menstrual cramps could now be passé with 'cannabis tampons'!

New Delhi: Marijuana is a widely known drug and cannabis leaves, the plant which it is prepared from, are normally smoked by people across the world to get a high.

However, the medicinal properties of cannabis leaves are gradually coming into the public view as scientists reveal one discovery after another.

The latest discovery related to cannabis to do the rounds is actually something girls across the globe might be interested in.

Why? Because it has something to do with menstruation and the horrible menstrual cramps. Yes! As per reports floating in cyberspace, “cannabis tampons”, as they are being called, are the latest inventions in the medical cannabis industry.

According to the company responsible for this innovation, they are less like tampons and more like capsules and are an all-natural and highly effective way for women to treat menstrual cramps and pain, called Foria Relief.

These capsules are to be used like a tampon and the company swears that they can provide powerful pain relief.

As per the company's website, “Cannabis has a long, cross-cultural history of use as a natural aid in easing symptoms associated with menstruation. Our intention is to share the powerful medicinal properties of this plant while utilizing modern extraction techniques to standardize purity and potency, thereby ensuring a safe and accessible experience for all women.”

According to a report in Alternative Health, the small cocoa butter-based insert is being marketed as a pain relief option for women with menstrual cramps. With a mix of THC and CBD, the tampon-sized suppository aims to “maximize” muscle relief without inducing a high.

With this, one can imagine the potential of this suppository. This means that if this truly works on menstrual cramps, it might even be an option to reduce pain during childbirth!

Once inserted, the capsule is said to show its effects within 15 to 30 minutes post insertion.
